In 2025, Ukraine increased egg exports by 77% to 137.5 thousand tons
In 2025, egg production in Ukraine decreased by 0.5% compared to the previous year to 11,434 million pieces, which is 13% lower than the average 5-year indicator. At the same time, the share of industrial enterprises in the total production volume increased to 54% or 6,085 million pieces, and households decreased to 46% from 5,531 to 5,349 million pieces.
Despite difficult economic conditions, large enterprises maintain production stability by introducing automation, new management systems, and product certification. At the same time, household production is declining due to high feed costs and limited financial resources.
Exports of chicken eggs in 2025 increased by 77% compared to the previous year to 137.5 thousand tons, of which 73.3% were purchased by EU countries, 12.7% by other European countries (not part of the EU), 8% by Middle Eastern countries, 3.2% by Southeast Asian countries, and 2.8% by other regions. The increase in exports is due to high demand from the EU and geographical proximity to major buyers.
At the same time, exports of egg products in 2025 increased by only 3% compared to the previous year to 7.8 thousand tons, of which 95.3% were delivered to the EU.
Despite the difficult situation, the Ukrainian egg industry demonstrates stability, producers are investing in product quality to comply with international standards, which contributes to increasing exports.
