Representatives of the Russian Federation are delaying the inspection of the courts, which increases their downtime and the losses of Ukrainian farmers

Russian inspectors at the SCC continue to slow down the inspection of courts in order to artificially increase the queues and reduce the profits of Ukrainian farmers and traders.

As of January 15, 109 ships have accumulated in the queue in the Bosphorus, 22 of which are loaded with grain. A week ago, there were 95 vessels in the queue, and in mid-November, when the Russian Federation announced its withdrawal from the grain agreement, representatives of Turkey, Ukraine and the UN removed all ships from the queue for loading / unloading in three days.

According to the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine, M. Solskyi, traders lose from $20,000 per day when a vessel with approximately 25,000 tons of domestic agricultural products is idle in the Bosphorus. First of all, these losses fall on Ukrainian farmers, who do not receive several tens of dollars for each ton of products. If the ship waits in line for a month, then due to the cost of additional freight, farmers have a decrease in the export price by $25/t.

Last weekend, 6 vessels with 153,000 tons of agricultural products left Ukrainian Black Sea ports through the grain corridor. In the ports, 21 ships are loaded with 800,000 tons of products, and 1 more ship is heading through the grain corridor for loading. Since August 1, when the grain agreement came into effect, 653 ships with 17.5 million tons of agricultural products have already left Ukrainian ports.

We will remind that in July 2022, two agreements were concluded on the export of grain from the ports of Ukraine: one - between Turkey, the UN and Ukraine, the second - between Turkey, the UN and the Russian Federation. They allowed the export of agricultural products from the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny for 120 days with a possible extension. The first ship with Ukrainian grain left the port of Odesa on August 1 within the framework of the agreement. In mid-November, the agreement was extended for another 120 days, and the UN and Turkey remained guarantors of the implementation of the grain initiative.
