Thanks to good rainfall, Morocco could increase grain production by 41%

According to the forecast of the Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture, grain production in 2025 could increase by 41% compared to last year to 4.4 million tons thanks to abundant rains in March and April, the Grain Online agency reports with reference to The North Africa Post.
The country has suffered from drought for seven consecutive years, and last year was able to harvest only 3.1 million tons of grain, significantly below the annual average of 7 million tons.
This year, precipitation has increased by 19%, but remains 18% below normal, so the moisture deficit persists.
The Moroccan Ministry of Agriculture expects that after last year's 4.8% reduction, the volume of agricultural production in 2025 will grow by 5.1%, in particular, the yield of soft wheat - up to 2.4 million tons, durum - up to 1.06 million tons, and barley - up to 0.9 million tons.
