The total volume of grain production in the CIS countries will amount to 189 million tons

the European part of the CIS in 2016, will collect a record high grain harvest, - the press-service of FAO.

the Total amount of grain grown for the specified region is estimated at 189 million tons, which is 9% higher than the previous year.

the Increase in grain production is mainly due to the growth of wheat crop which is estimated at 102 million tons, which is 11% higher than last year.

According to the FAO, in Russia, total grain production will reach 115 million tons, up 13% over 2015. In Ukraine, the total grain production is also expected to rise compared to the previous year by 6% to USD 63 million. Due to good crop yields nearly 30% increase in cereal production in Moldova. However, it is expected that up to 7.5 million tons reduced production of grain in Belarus.

Recall that as of 21 December 2016, Ukraine has implemented export 21.22 million tons of grain, which is 960 thousand tons higher than in the same period of the previous year.
