Legal entities are increasing the volume of purchases of agricultural land in Ukraine, which increases its price
According to the Ministry of Economy, from January to mid-December 2025, 115.6 thousand land plots with a total area of over 340 thousand hectares were sold in Ukraine. At the initial stage of opening the land market, the key factor was the volume of the land bank, but in 2025 the focus shifted to the quality of the plots and their location.
In total, during 2025, the following were purchased:
- legal entities - 43.01 thousand land plots with a total area of 128.21 thousand hectares at an average price of 74,323 UAH/hectare;
- individuals - 72.6 thousand land plots with a total area of 211.96 thousand hectares at an average price of 47,246 UAH/hectare.
The highest land prices remain in the western and central regions, while in frontline regions the cost remains significantly lower.
Depending on the regions, the price is:
- in Ivano-Frankivsk region – up to 165,615 UAH/ha;
- Ternopil region – up to 126,068 UAH/ha;
- Lviv and Vinnytsia – over 80-100 thousand UAH/ha;
- Kherson, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhia - 35-38 thousand UAH/hectare.
“Despite military risks, in 2025 the agricultural land market retained liquidity, demonstrated a steady growth in value and a formed demand structure. In 2026, the key factors for its development will remain the security situation, regional specifics, and investment attractiveness of land plots,” said Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Denys Bashlyk.
As reported, during 2024, 106.67 thousand land plots with a total area of 320.66 thousand hectares were sold, and the average cost of 1 hectare increased to 46,678 UAH, compared to 38.5 thousand UAH in 2023.
Recall that agricultural land prices in Ukraine increased significantly after the market opened to private companies in 2024, noted researchers at the Center for Food and Land Use Research at the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE Agrocenter).
