Domestic enterprises in 2021 reduced the production of railcars by more than 30%

Chairman of the Management Board of Ukrzaliznytsya Kamyshin said that 10 years ago the main consumer of domestic railcars was Russia. But even in 2018-19, 10 thousand railcars were produced annually, which, avoiding the Russian market, were sold from the Baltic states to Iran.
However, in recent years, the car industry has been in a difficult situation, as there was no strong state position on the service life of cars. The Ministry of infrastructure has put freight cars in order by approving an order regulating their operation in December.
Under the new rules, gondola cars and grain carriers will return to the same standard service life within 10 years. And Ukrzaliznytsia, taking this into account, has developed a 10-year rolling stock renewal program.
It is worth adding that in 2021, domestic enterprises reduced the output of railcars by 31.2% compared to the previous year to 1,948 units.

- Popasnyansky VRZ — 68 cars,
- Azovvagon — 36 cars,
- Poltavkhimmash — 36 cars,
- Diesel plant — 19 railcars,
- Stryi VRZ (JSC Ukrzaliznytsia) - 5 railcars,
- "Poltavavagon" - 4 cars,
- Panyutinsky VRZ (JSC "Ukrzaliznytsya") — 4 cars,
- "Darnytskyi VRZ" (JSC "Ukrzaliznytsya") — 2 cars.
Recall that in 2021, Ukrzaliznytsia reduced grain transportation by 4.3%.
