Yes, on the specified date, the following was collected:

  • wheat – 22.048 million tons from 5.007 million hectares (98%) with a yield of 4.4 tons/hectare;
  • barley – 5.291 million tons from 1.345 million hectares (98%) with a yield of 3.93 tons/hectare;

  • millet – 18 thousand tons from 10.2 thousand hectares (16%) with a yield of 1.76 tons/hectare.

The harvesting of corn has also begun, with 1.9 thousand tons of corn harvested from 0.5 thousand hectares with a yield of 4.16 tons/hectare. The total grain harvesting area this year is forecast at 4.141 million hectares.

Also, as of September 4, the following oilseed crops were harvested:

  • sunflower – 208.1 thousand tons from 154.2 thousand hectares (3%) with a yield of 1.35 tons/hectare;
  • rapeseed – 3.246 million tons from 1.274 million hectares (101%) with a yield of 2.55 tons/hectare;
  • soybeans – 135.2 thousand tons from 84.9 thousand hectares (4%) with a yield of 1.59 tons/hectare.

In addition, sugar beet harvesting has begun in Ukraine. In Vinnytsia and Cherkasy regions, the first 36.4 thousand tons were harvested from 0.9 thousand hectares (out of a total projected 216.7 thousand hectares) with a yield of 40.9 tons/hectare.

It is worth noting that as of September 5, 100 million tons of grain were harvested from 30 million hectares or 65% of the planned area in the Russian Federation, which is 7 million tons more than the corresponding figure last year. Compared to the previous season, grain yield increased by 12% from 3.02 to 3.37 tons/hectare, in particular wheat - by 10%, barley - by 17%. The Ministry of Agriculture leaves the forecast for grain production in the Russian Federation at 135 million tons, in particular wheat - by 90 million tons, while the USDA estimates the wheat harvest at 83.5 million tons.

A large wheat harvest in the Russian Federation is increasing pressure on prices in the Black Sea region, which is leading to a decrease in purchase prices in Ukraine.
