The condition of winter crops in Ukraine and Russia, gives hope for a bountiful harvest-2018

In Ukraine on 23 November, the shoots were obtained on 6,697 million hectares, representing 96,9% of 6,911 million hectares of sown areas. Almost 45% of crops are in good condition.

In Russia were sown with winter crops of 17.12 million hectares that 200 thousand hectares inferior to the previous year. Now winter crops relative to the averages remain in good condition, but worse than last year.

the experts of the Hydrometeorological assess the condition of the 5% of crops as poor, where no stairs or they are rare. Condition 95% of crops in good or satisfactory.

This is a good performance, because for 5 years the national average in bad condition was more than 8% of crops, while last year the figure was only 3%.

Specialists of the Hydrometeorological center said that the lack of rainfall in the fall of 2017 will not allow you to repeat a good performance in 2016. Only in late October – early November rainfall was sufficient for sowing. However, for normal vegetation of winter crops need a certain amount of moisture, not only in surface but also deeper layers of the soil.
