Precipitation in the United States, Canada and Russia will slightly improve the condition of late crops

In arid regions of Canada, in the western United States and in the Volga region, it rained, which lowered the air temperature, which will contribute to the development of late crops: soybeans, corn, sunflower and canola. However, they delayed harvesting in regions where crops ripen ahead of schedule.

In the northern and Southern Plains and in the west of the US corn belt, heavy rains will continue over the weekend, temperatures will drop to normal, which will contribute to the filling of soybeans and corn.

Next week, rain will also fall, but of lower intensity, which will continue to improve the condition of crops against the background of rising temperatures. But crop tours show low yields of soybeans and corn in western states after a prolonged summer heat wave.

In the Midwest of the United States this week there were light rains, and next week a heat wave of 30-32 is expected. ^OhC with light precipitation. This will not contribute to soybean filling, although moisture reserves in the central and eastern regions of the Corn Belt are quite high.

In the prairies of Canada, heavy rains have passed, which will last for another week, and will contribute to the development of soybean and corn crops, but will almost not affect the crops of spring wheat and rapeseed, which ripened earlier due to the heat this year. In some regions, harvesting has begun, so prolonged precipitation can worsen the quality of wheat and reduce its yield.

In Saskatchewan, 20% of the area is threshed, compared to 4% on average for 5 years on this date, in particular spring wheat – 13% and canola – 4%. Soil moisture reserves are estimated to be 4% sufficient, 29% low, and 67% very low.

In the province of Alberta, as of August 10, only 19.9% of spring wheat crops, 15.4% of canola crops and 18% of all crops were in good condition, compared to 69% last year.

In Ukraine, the weather with periodic precipitation and low temperatures allows you to complete the harvesting of early and promotes the maturation of late crops.

In the southern and central regions of Russia in the next 3-5 days, rain will come, which will reduce the air temperature and contribute to the formation of corn and sunflower crops. However, in the Volga region, precipitation will be insignificant, and the heat will continue, so the prospects for the harvest will continue to deteriorate. In the east of Russia, light precipitation has passed in the regions where spring wheat is grown, and the weather generally contributes to the development of crops, which can compensate for the decrease in the harvest in the Volga region.

Wheat markets expect the resumption of publications of data on grain harvesting in Russia and detailed information by region. In the south of the country, record harvests were obtained, in particular, farmers of the Rostov region and Krasnodar Territory collected 12.685 million tons and 12.4 million tons of early grain crops, respectively, and in the Stavropol region threshed more than 8.5 million tons of grain.
