The growth of sunflower prices in Ukraine has stopped

The purchase prices of sunflower in Ukraine last week stopped growth at the level of UAH 15,500-16,500/t (including VAT) with delivery to the factory against the background of the accumulation of significant stocks of raw materials at processors and a drop in demand prices for sunflower oil by $5/t to 775-785 $/t with delivery to the port due to increased competition with sellers from the Russian Federation, who are ready to significantly lower the price in order to increase sales, as happened in the last tender in Egypt.

According to Trading Economics, global prices for sunflower oil delivered to buyers remained flat at $855/t during the week, although they rose 5.5% for the month, following soybean and palm oil prices.

Sunflower prices are supported by increased demand for sunflower meal, the demand price of which increased in ports by another 5-10 $/t to $185-190/t during the week.

Sunflower demand export prices remained unchanged and are $430-455/t DAP Bulgaria, $405-410/t DAP Turkey and $415-420/t CIF Romania (port), although the increase in the dollar exchange rate on the interbank to 39.2- 39.3 hryvnias/$ increased competition between exporters and processors.

According to the BAGE exchange, sunflower in Argentina has been threshed in 75% of the area, and the average yield has increased to 2.02 t/ha compared to 2 t/ha last week. Therefore, the volume of offers of Argentine meal and oil will soon increase on the world market.
