The harvest in Ukraine and Russia increases the volume of global supply

Thanks to the favorable weather of September and October the current rate of harvest is higher than last year. In Ukraine is confirmed by a good crop of corn, but the low humidity allows you to speed up collection and reduce the cost of drying. An increase in supply of new crop due to low global demand weighs on prices.

 

Reduction of the wheat harvest in Kazakhstan will intensify the import of wheat from the Eastern regions of Russia to load refining capacities, which will reduce the pressure of Russian grain on the world markets.

 

In Ukraine on 7 October from 11.8 million ha or 77% of the area harvested of 49.9 million tonnes of grain and leguminous crops with a yield of 4.22 t/ha.

 

in Particular, we collected:

the

11.7 million tons of sunflower seeds from 4.9 million hectares or 84% of the area with productivity of 2.37 t/ha (2,18 t/ha in 2018),

2.6 million t of soybean from 1.1 million hectares or 69% of the area with productivity of 2.37 t/ha (2.5 t/ha in 2018).

  • 10 million tons of corn from 1.6 million hectares or 33% of the area with a yield of 6.24 t/ha (of 6.09 t/ha in 2018),

 

in addition, winter crops sown 4.7 million hectares or 65% of the planned areas, in particular:

the

barley 419 thousand hectares (46%),

rye 92 thousand hectares (75%),

rape 1 million hectares (96%).

In Russia as of October 4, 41.9 million hectares or 89,7% of the area harvested 112,4 million tons of grain with a yield of 2.68 t/ha (2,57 t/ha in 2018).

the

20.8 million tonnes of barley from 8.2 million hectares, or 93.7 per cent of areas with the productivity of 2.53 t/ha (2,25 t/ha in 2018),

4.7 million tons of corn with 865,9 thousand ha or 33.5% of the area with a yield of 5.42 t/ha (3.9 t/ha in 2018),

7.3 million tonnes of sunflower from 3.4 million hectares or 40.2% of the area with productivity of 2.13 t/ha (1.75 t/ha in 2018),

2.8 million tons of soybeans, with 1.5 million ha or 48% of the area with a yield of 1.9 t/ha (1.75 t/ha in 2018),

1.76 million tonnes of rapeseed at 1.1 million hectares, or 69.9% of the areas with the yield of 1.62 t/ha (1,47 t/ha in 2018).

  • 75.6 million tonnes of wheat from 26.5 million hectares or 94.3% of the area with a yield of 2.85 t/ha, which corresponds to last year's,

 

were sown with Winter crops 13.4 million hectares, or 76.7 per cent of the planned areas.

 

In Kazakhstan as of October 8, with 14,276 million hectares or 93,5% of the area harvested 17 million tonnes of grain with yields of 1.2 t/ha (1,41 t/ha in 2018). The Ministry of agriculture of the country second time in a month lowered the forecast of grain production from the previous 18-18. 5 million tonnes to 17 million tonnes, whereas in 2018 the crop totaled 20.2 million tons.
