Turkey to reap good grain harvest in 2026 thanks to favorable rainfall

Favorable weather conditions will allow Turkey to harvest a good grain crop in 2026, reports Ukagroconsult.

Wheat production in the country is expected to reach 23 million tons, and barley production is expected to reach about 8.7 million tons.

Regular rains since autumn have had a positive impact on crops, providing moisture to plants at critical stages of development. April has been one of the best weather-wise months in the last 50 years.

In the central regions of Turkey, where 31% of all cereal crops and 37% of wheat are grown, precipitation in April exceeded the norm.

Sufficient soil moisture, combined with relatively mild temperatures, reduces the risk of drought compared to previous years, allowing for higher crop forecasts. If they come true, Turkey will strengthen its position as one of the largest grain producers in the region, ensuring a stable domestic market and export supplies.
