Thanks to active exports will increase the acreage under sugar beet

In the first quarter of 2017, Ukraine supplied to the world markets 267,4 thousand tons of sugar, which is nine higher than in the same period of the previous year, according to DFS.

During this period due to sugar, the country received 131.5 million $ of foreign exchange earnings, which is 1.27% of the total domestic exports. Obtained during January-March 2017 for sugar currency funds accounted for 57% of the sugar sold in 2016, when it was exported 442,7 thousand tons of sugar for the total amount of 215.9 m $.

In February 2017 Ukraine sold on world markets of 113.2 thousand tons of sugar, but in March this indicator decreased by 27% to 89.1 thousand tonnes. Overall this season, as 01.04.17 were exported 611,1 thousand tons of sugar.

According to the Association "Ukrtsukor", total domestic sugar acquired:

• côte d'ivoire – 15,26 thousand tons,
• Sudan – 11,39 thousand tons,
• Myanmar – 10,2 thousand tons,
• of 10.05 tons

is Now actively sowing and sugar beet is already planted of 130.7 thousand hectares, which is 10.8% more than last year. According to analysts "Ukrtsukor" in 2017, the sown area under sugar beet will increase by at least 12% to 330-350 thousand hectares.
