Purchase prices for grains in Ukraine on August 13, 2025

The USDA report came as a surprise to the corn market due to an increase in the production forecast in the US by 26 million tons and in Ukraine by 1.5 million tons, which led to a 3.8% drop in futures.

In the global wheat balance, the USDA lowered estimates for global production and stocks, but wheat futures fell under pressure from falling corn prices.

China imposed temporary tariffs on canola from Canada, which led to a drop in canola quotes in Winnipeg by 4.5% and rapeseed in Paris by 1.5%, but a decrease in the forecast for global oilseed production, in particular soybeans in the US and sunflowers in Ukraine and the EU, supports oilseed prices.
