Over the year, the cattle population in Ukraine decreased by 18%

According to the State Statistics Service of Ukraine, as of September 1, the cattle population in Ukraine amounted to 1.74 million heads, which is 18.1% lower than the corresponding figure last year. In particular, the number of cows decreased by 18.1% to 926 thousand heads.

 

Moreover, in households, the number of cattle during the specified period decreased by 34.6% to 779.1 thousand heads, while in agricultural enterprises it increased by 3.1% to 964.4 thousand heads.

 

As of the beginning of May, the number of poultry in Ukraine increased by 1% compared to last year to 216.5 million heads, goats and sheep decreased by 16.8% to 796.7 thousand heads, and pigs by 3.8% to 4.6 million heads.
