According to the latest data from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of May 18, 4.973 million hectares or 83% of the planned area (6.003 million hectares) were sown with spring grain and legume crops in Ukraine, while last year, as of May 15, 4.954 million hectares or 87% of the planned area (5.681 million hectares) were sown with spring crops.
Yes, on the specified date the following was sown:
- wheat – 184.7 thousand hectares (99% of the forecast),
- barley – 709 thousand hectares (94%),
- peas – 256.7 thousand hectares (94%),
- oats – 136.7 thousand hectares (99%),
- corn – 3.541 million hectares (80%),
- buckwheat – 17.9 thousand hectares (32%),
- millet – 19.6 thousand hectares (49%),
- sunflower - 3.727 million hectares (75%),
- soybeans – 1.336 million hectares (65%).
In addition, 187.9 thousand hectares or 95% of the planned area was sown with sugar beets.
