The yield of early grains in Ukraine is 40% higher than last year
According to the operational data of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, as of July 13, 3.1 million tons of grain and legume crops were threshed from 762.5 thousand hectares in Ukraine with an average yield of 4.08 tons/hectare, while last year, as of July 10, 2.621 million tons of grain and legume crops were harvested from 919.9 million hectares with an average yield of 2.85 tons/hectare.
On the specified date, collected:
- wheat – 1.113 million tons from 280.7 thousand hectares (5%) with a yield of 4 tons/hectare;
- barley – 1.842 million tons from 417.7 thousand hectares (28%) with a yield of 4.41 tons/hectare;
- peas – 156.4 thousand tons from 98.5 thousand hectares (33%) with a yield of 1.59 tons/hectare.
According to the ministry, grain harvesting continues in all regions of Ukraine, and due to high yields in the south, the average yield at the beginning of the harvest is 40% higher than last year.
Rapeseed harvesting is underway in ten regions as of July 13. So far, 149.07 thousand tons of rapeseed have been harvested from 76.97 thousand hectares (6% of the planned area), with an average yield of 1.94 tons/hectare.
