Maize yields in Ukraine are lower than last year, in Russia – the highest

Dry weather in Russia and Ukraine allows you to harvest corn faster than last year, but due to higher yields of cereals and oilseeds will also increase. In Russia, the yield of corn has increased by 23.8%, whereas in Ukraine through the arid conditions the yield of soybeans and corn dropped.

As of October 31 in Ukraine, with 14.1 million ha or 92% of the area harvested 66,2 million tons of grain with an average yield of 4.71 t/ha, whereas last year on that date, from 13.5 million ha or 91% areas was collected 58.9 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 4.36 MT/ha.

On a specified date collected

87 thousand tons of buckwheat from 66 thousand hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 1.32 t/ha (134 thousand tonnes and 1.26 t/ha in 2018),

13.9 million tons of sunflower seeds from 5.7 million tons or 97% of the area with a yield of 2.45 t/ha (2,24 t/ha in 2018),

3.6 million tons of soybeans, with 1.5 million hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 2.32 t/ha (2.54 t/ha in 2018),

7.7 million tonnes of sugar beet with 176 thousand hectares or 80% of the area with a yield of 43.7 t/ha (to 48.5 t/ha in 2018).

• 26.2 million tons of corn from 3.8 million hectares or 77% of the area with a yield of 6.81 t/ha (at 7.05 t/ha in 2018),

In Russia as at 1 November from 44.6 million hectares 95.4% of the area harvested 122,5 million tonnes of grain with a yield of 2.74 t/ha, while on this date last year with a 43.9 million hectares were collected 113.7 million tons with the productivity of 2.59 t/ha.

21.5 million tons of barley from 8.5 million hectares, or 96,6% of the area with the productivity of 2.53 t/ha (17.6 million tonnes and 2.24 t/ha in 2018),

11.1 million tons of corn from 1.9 million hectares or 72% of the area with a yield of 5.98 t/ha (9.2 million tons and 4.83 t/ha in 2018),

13.7 million tons of sunflower seeds from 7.4 million ha or 86.6% of the area with yields of 1.86 t/ha (11.1 million tonnes and 1.58 t/ha in 2018),

4.2 million tons of soybeans with 2.5 million ha or 82,8% of the area with a yield of 1.67 t/ha (3,6 million tons and 1.56 t/ha in 2018),

of 2.2 million tonnes of rapeseed from 1.4 million hectares or 89.4% of the area with productivity of 1.57 t/ha (2.1 million tons and 1.43 tons/ha in 2018),

47 million tonnes of sugar beet with 1 million hectares or 88.8% of the area with productivity 46,19 t/ha (38.1 mln t of 36.84 tons/ha in 2018).
