As a result of Russian attacks on port infrastructure, Kernel terminals suffered significant damage

As a result of massive Russian attacks on the infrastructure of the port of Chornomorsk on the night of July 11 and 12, the operation of the Kernel port terminals was suspended, as they suffered significant damage.

The strikes damaged loading and unloading equipment, power lines, and terminal infrastructure, including grain storage silos and oil tanks, destroying or significantly degrading 45,000 tons of wheat and 9,000 tons of sunflower oil. No terminal workers were injured.

Experts are currently assessing the extent of damage and product losses, as well as calculating the funds needed to restore the infrastructure. The timing of the terminals' restoration will be determined by the results of the engineering audit and work to eliminate the consequences of the shelling.

In addition, while unloading mineral fertilizers in one of the ports of the Odessa region, a civilian merchant ship under the Togolese flag was attacked by the Russian Federation, resulting in the deaths of three and the injury of five more crew members, who were urgently hospitalized and provided with the necessary medical assistance, reported the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine - Minister of Community and Territorial Development O. Kuleba.

According to the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration, in recent days, Russian strikes have damaged port and other civilian infrastructure facilities, and six people have died - drivers, sailors, and port workers who had no connection to the hostilities. The USPA expresses its sincere condolences to the families and friends of the deceased.
