Grain unloading at the ports of Greater Odessa continues to decline
In the ports of Greater Odessa, a further decrease in the intensity of grain cargo transshipment by rail was recorded last week. According to JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", the average daily volumes of grain wagon unloading in this direction continue to decrease.
As of January 22, the average daily rate of unloading grain wagons at the ports of Greater Odessa was 1,175 units, which is 33 wagons less than a week earlier. This trend was confirmed by Valeriy Tkachev, Deputy Director of the Department of Transportation Technology and Commercial Work of Ukrzaliznytsia.
At the same time, there is a decrease in the number of grain wagons heading towards Odessa ports. During the reporting period, their number decreased by 47 units - to 8,337 wagons. This may indicate a certain slowdown in export activity or a redistribution of logistics flows.
At the same time, the railway network recorded an increase in the average daily load of wagons in the direction of the ports of Greater Odessa. Over the week, the figure increased by 31 wagons and reached 1,109 wagons per day, which indicates the preservation of the potential for further growth in transshipment, provided that logistics processes in the ports stabilize.
The situation with the Danube ports attracts special attention. If a week earlier there was virtually no movement of grain wagons in this direction, then as of January 22, their number had increased to 55 units. At the same time, the average daily unloading of grain in the Danube ports remained at a low level - about 9 wagons per day, which is one wagon less compared to the previous week.
Thus, the overall dynamics of rail transportation of grain to ports indicates uneven logistics flows, with a simultaneous decrease in activity in the ports of Greater Odessa and a gradual resumption of traffic in the direction of the Danube cluster.
