The high rate of sowing of spring crops in Ukraine will allow to increase the sown area

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 3.4073 million hectares of land were planted with grain and leguminous crops on the territory controlled by Ukraine, in particular:

• barley - 775.7 thousand ha (712.2 thousand ha last year),
• wheat - 240.7 (236) thousand hectares,
• peas - 161.1 (128.6) thousand hectares,
• oats - 159.9 (132.2) thousand hectares,
• millet - 16.7 (8.4) thousand hectares,
• buckwheat - 5 (3.05) thousand hectares,
• corn - 1.9607 (1.059) million hectares.

In addition, sown:

• sunflower – 2.9675 (1.485) million hectares,
• soybean - 566.7 (173.6) thousand ha,
• sugar beets - 248.4 (179.2) thousand hectares.

During the last week, 861,000 hectares of land were sown with hot crops, in particular

• in Kyiv region - 31.3 thousand hectares of wheat, 43.1 thousand hectares of barley, 5.8 thousand hectares of peas and 6 thousand hectares of oats,
• Dnipropetrovsk region - 28 thousand hectares of wheat, 50 thousand hectares of barley, 14.17 thousand hectares of peas and 1 thousand hectares of oats,
• Ternopil Oblast – 18,900 hectares of wheat, 63,600 hectares of barley, 3,600 hectares of peas and 5,100 hectares of oats,
• Sumy region - 18.2 thousand hectares of wheat, 17.9 thousand hectares of barley, 5.6 thousand hectares of peas and 9.8 thousand hectares of oats,
• Zhytomyr Oblast - 16,500 hectares of wheat, 19,300 hectares of barley, 3,000 hectares of peas and 26,000 hectares of oats.
• Khmelnytskyi region - 14.8 thousand hectares of wheat, 59.1 thousand hectares of barley, 2.6 thousand hectares of peas and 2.5 thousand hectares of oats,
• Vinnytsia has 11,500 hectares of wheat, 55,000 hectares of barley, 6,000 hectares of peas and 1,100 hectares of oats.

The dry and cool weather predicted for the coming weeks will allow farmers to finish sowing in the optimal time.

We will remind that, according to forecasts, in 2024 the area of grain, technical, vegetable, melon and fodder crops will be increased compared to last year.
