The lack of precipitation in the east of Ukraine and the Russian Federation will reduce the yield potential of late crops

Weather conditions in the US and in Europe are generally favorable for the formation of a crop, which restrains the growth of stock market quotations. At the same time, dry weather in the southeast of Ukraine and the southwest of the Russian Federation reduces the yield potential of soybeans, sunflowers, and corn.

The Midwest and U.S. Plains received heavy rain this week, which is good for spring wheat, soybeans and corn. Temperatures will be above average next week, with more heavy rain expected later in the week.

In the west of Europe (in France and Germany) this week rains again passed, which delayed harvesting and worsened the quality of grain. The cyclone with precipitation reached the south-eastern regions of the EU, which suffered from heat and drought. Another front will bring rain to Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary next week, reducing heat stress for sunflowers and corn.

In the east of Ukraine and the south-west of the Russian Federation, dry and hot weather persists, which negatively affects the sowing of late crops. The front from Eastern Europe will bring rain and coolness to the western and central regions of Ukraine this week, but it will not reach the eastern regions. Next week in these regions there will be light rains, but there will not be significant precipitation necessary to preserve the harvest, although the decrease in temperatures to normal will reduce heat stress for plants.

A heat wave blanketed the Canadian prairies last week, sending canola prices soaring. It rained this week, which reduced the temperature and stress for the plants. Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba will experience heavy rain over the weekend, but dry and warm weather next week will help spring wheat and canola crops grow.

Argentina has completed sowing of winter wheat, but dry weather in most regions has a negative impact on crops, although some areas have received light rains. Light rainfall is expected next week, slightly heavier in the north, but drought will continue to be an issue for crops in the short term.

In Australia, the weather favors the development of winter wheat, barley and canola crops. There will be rain this week and next week, but the northeast needs more rain.
