An international system for exchanging electronic phytosanitary certificates has been launched in Ukraine

Since February 3, Ukraine has officially joined the international system of exchange of electronic phytosanitary certificates ePhyto. According to the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection, the first electronic document has already been issued.
"Now Ukraine has received the status of a country that, using the international ePhyto system, can exchange electronic phytosanitary certificates with 124 countries, including the USA, Canada, EU countries, and Oceania. This simplifies trade procedures and increases the transparency and efficiency of the certification system," says the head of the department, S. Tkachuk.
It is expected that the implementation of ePhyto will strengthen the trust of international partners, increase the competitiveness of Ukrainian agricultural products, in particular grain crops, and facilitate their entry into global markets.
The ePhyto system addresses a number of important issues, including:
- makes it impossible to falsify phytosanitary certificates;
- simplifies international trade procedures;
- ensures transparent exchange of documents between countries;
- contributes to the diversification of Ukrainian exports;
- prevents unauthorized import of plant products.
The exchange of electronic phytosanitary certificates in Ukraine is carried out through the Phytosanitary Inspection System (PHIS) with the integrated ePhyto solution. All issued quarantine and phytosanitary certificates, as well as re-export certificates, will have a QR code that will allow you to verify their authenticity.
