In Ukraine, 22% of corn areas remain unthreshed, with the largest share in the Kharkiv region.

According to the operational data of the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as of December 5, 2024, 54.33 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from 10.552 million hectares or 91% of the planned areas in Ukraine, with an average yield of 5.08 tons/ha. Recall that as of December 5, 2024, 54.33 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from 10.8682 thousand hectares or 98% of the areas, with an average yield of 5.0 tons/ha.

Currently, the harvesting of late grain crops is underway, which have been threshed:

• corn – 23.502 million tons from 3.442 million hectares or 78% of the area with a yield of 6.83 tons/hectare (last year at this time from 3.788 million hectares or 96% of the area, 24.59 million tons were threshed with a yield of 6.49 tons/hectare),
• buckwheat – 82.7 thousand tons from 59.4 thousand hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 1.39 tons/hectare (131.7 thousand tons from 88.1 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.5 tons/hectare),
• millet – 62.1 thousand tons from 35.8 thousand hectares or 88% of the area with a yield of 1.74 tons/hectare (161.3 thousand tons, 88.2 thousand hectares, 1.83 tons/hectare).

It should be noted that more than 20% of the corn harvest remains unharvested in the fields, in particular in Kharkiv region - 57%, Lviv - 51%, Ternopil - 48%, Sumy and Zhytomyr - 44%, Volyn - 43%, Chernihiv - 24%, Kyiv - 18%, Rivne - 16% and Cherkasy - 14%.

In addition, as of December 4, the following amount of oilseeds has been harvested:

• sunflower – 9.041 million tons from 4.807 million hectares or 93% of the area with a yield of 1.88 tons/hectare (10.227 million tons from 4.859 million hectares with a yield of 2.1 tons/hectare),
• soybeans – 4.753 million tons from 2.001 million hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 2.37 tons/hectare (6.02 million tons from 2.619 million hectares with a yield of 2.3 tons/hectare).

The harvesting of sugar beets is also almost complete, with 10.397 million tons harvested from 195 thousand hectares or 98% of the planned area, with an average yield of 53.22 tons/hectare.
