About half of the sunflower and soybean areas have already been harvested in Ukraine

As of October 5, Ukrainian farmers have harvested 35.174 million tons of grain and leguminous crops from 7.264 million hectares, or 62.7% of the planned area. The average yield is 48.2 centners/hectare.

 

The harvest of wheat, barley, peas and rapeseed has already been completed. 26.01 million tons of wheat were threshed at a yield of 5.08 tons/ha, barley - 6.58 million tons at 4.46 tons/ha, peas - 823.7 thousand tons, rapeseed - 3.88 million tons.

 

The largest volumes of grain were harvested in the Odessa region - 5.59 million tons, Dnipropetrovsk - 2.79 million tons, and Mykolaiv - 2.67 million tons.

The highest average grain yield was recorded in Khmelnytskyi region — 7.02 t/ha, Sumy region — 6.26 t/ha, and Ivano-Frankivsk region — 6.01 t/ha.

 

Corn harvesting is accelerating: 294.2 thousand hectares, or 7% of the area, have been threshed, and 1.623 million tons of grain have been obtained with an average yield of 55.2 centners/hectare.

 

51.1 thousand tons of buckwheat were threshed from 40.1 thousand hectares, or 83% of the area, with a yield of 12.8 centners/hectare, and 80.1 thousand tons of millet from 35.3 thousand hectares, or 86%, with a yield of 22.7 centners/hectare.

 

The pace of oilseed harvest is also increasing. 5.383 million tons of sunflower have already been threshed from 2.541 million hectares, or 49% of the area, with a yield of 21.2 centners/hectare.

 

1.89 million tons of soybeans were harvested from 851 thousand hectares, or 53% of the area, with an average yield of 22.2 centners/hectare.

 

824.6 thousand tons of sugar beets were harvested from 16.3 thousand hectares, or 10% of the projected area, with a yield of 506.5 centners/hectare.

 

At the same time, farmers continue to sow winter crops. As of September 30, 1.5945 million hectares, or 30.6% of the projected area, were sown with winter grains.

Wheat and triticale were sown on 1.424 million hectares, or 31.4% of the forecast, winter barley - 124.2 thousand hectares, rye - 46.1 thousand hectares.

 

The leaders in terms of winter grain areas are Mykolaiv region — 253.5 thousand hectares, Dnipropetrovsk region — 164.9 thousand hectares, and Poltava region — 130.4 thousand hectares.

Sowing of winter rapeseed is nearing completion - 1.018 million hectares, or 92.1% of the projected area, have been sown with the crop.
