In Ukraine, 76% of the planned areas have already been sown, and the sowing rates correspond to last year's.

According to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine, as of May 8, 4.233 million hectares or 76% of the planned area had been sown with spring grain and legume crops in the country, while last year, 4.32 million hectares or 77.1% of the area had been sown on this date.
In particular, on the specified date the following were sown:
- wheat – 212.6 thousand hectares or 93% of the planned area (compared to 244.9 thousand hectares last year),
- barley – 733.4 thousand hectares or 94% (779.9 thousand hectares),
- peas – 208.9 thousand hectares or 96% (161.6 thousand hectares),
- oats – 157 thousand hectares or 97% (165 thousand hectares),
- corn – 2.913 million hectares or 73% (2.838 million hectares),
- buckwheat – 16.3 thousand hectares or 18% (14.8 thousand hectares),
- millet – 15.7 thousand hectares or 20.6% (28.5 thousand hectares),
- other grain and leguminous crops – 56.9 thousand hectares (51%).
Sowing of other late crops is underway, including:
- sunflower – 3.508 million hectares or 69% of the planned (3.9637 million hectares last year),
- soybeans – 1.347 million hectares or 56% (1.2013 million hectares),
- sugar beets – 217.7 thousand hectares or 99% (250.1 thousand hectares).
In total, in 2025, it is planned to sow 5.7 million hectares of area with spring grain and legume crops, which will correspond to the figure for 2024.
