In Ukraine, the grain harvest is 4 million tons less, and exports are 5 million tons more than last year

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, on November 14, 49.938 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested in Ukraine from 10.643 million hectares or 96% of the area with an average yield of 4.8 tons/ha. Last year, on November 15, 53.78 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from 10.1 million hectares or 93% of the area with an average yield of 5.32 tons/ha.
Late crops are being harvested and are currently being threshed:
- corn - 22.348 million tons from 3.56 million hectares or 88% of the area with a yield of 6.27 tons/ha,
- buckwheat - 127.2 thousand tons from 87.8 thousand hectares or 99% of the area with a yield of 1.45 tons/ha,
- millet - 161.03 thousand tons from 88.1 thousand ha or 93% of the area with a yield of 1.83 tons/ha,
- sunflower - 9.96 million tons from 4.78 million hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 2.09 tons/ha,
- soybeans – 5.889 million tons from 2.56 million hectares or 98% of the area with a yield of 2.27 tons/ha,
- sugar beet – 11.43 million tons from 238.1 thousand ha or 92% of the area with a yield of 48.02 tons/ha.
In 2024/25 FY (as of November 13), Ukraine exported almost 16 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, which is 45.3% or 4.978 million tons higher than the corresponding indicator of 2023/24 FY.
Thus, compared to the previous season, exports increased:
- wheat - by 56.9% or 2.977 million tons to 8.202 million tons,
- corn - by 17.7% or 864 thousand tons to 5.729 million tons,
- barley - up to 1.733 million tons,
- rye - up to 10.6 thousand tons.
In addition, during the specified period, 27.8 thousand tons of flour were exported (37.1 thousand tons in terms of grain), which is 18.2 thousand tons or 1.7 times less than last year.
According to Rosstat data, as of November 1, 124.3 million tons of grain in bunker weight (141 million tons last year) were collected in the Russian Federation from 94.7% of the area (94.3% on this date last year), as well as 13.9 (14 .6) million tons of sunflower and 35.5 (37.5) million tons of sugar beets. According to the forecast of the Ministry of Agriculture, in 2024 the Russian Federation will harvest 130 million tons of grain, including 83 million tons of wheat.
