Harvesting is underway in Ukraine, and as of July 20, 11.4% of the projected area has already been threshed.

As of July 20, 5.47 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed in Ukraine from 1.34 million hectares or 11.4% of the projected area (+2.36 million tons per week) with an average yield of 4.09 tons/hectare.

In particular, on the specified date, the following was collected:

• wheat – 2.6 million tons from 633.2 thousand hectares (+1.49 million tons per week),
• barley - 2.56 million tons from 580.5 thousand hectares (+720.3 thousand tons),
• peas – 301.4 thousand tons from 121.6 thousand hectares (+145 thousand tons),
• rapeseed – 429.6 thousand tons from 216.2 thousand hectares (+280.5 thousand tons).

The northern regions are gradually being included in the harvesting campaign. In Sumy region, 8.25 thousand tons of grain, mainly barley, have already been threshed from 1.7 thousand hectares, in Chernihiv region, almost 2 thousand tons of grain have been harvested from the first 0.4 thousand hectares.

The largest volumes of grain were harvested in Odessa (1.6 million tons), Mykolaiv (1.3 million tons), and Dnipropetrovsk (1 million tons) regions, which together threshed 71% of the harvested crop.

The Mykolaiv region leads in terms of harvesting rates (49% of the projected areas were threshed), Kherson (43%), Dnipropetrovsk (31%), and Odesa (29%).

However, the harvest is still in its early stages, and yield figures are largely determined by the results of the early harvest in the southern regions. Therefore, as the wheat harvest intensifies in the central, western and northern regions, the average yield may change significantly.
