In Ukraine, grain harvest rates are 15% and exports are 54% lower than last year

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as of October 30, 40.201 million tons of grain and legume crops were harvested from 8.771 million hectares or 76% of the planned area in Ukraine, with an average yield of 4.48 tons/ha, while last year, as of October 31, 47.972 million tons of grain and legume crops were harvested from 10.141 million hectares or 91% of the planned area, with an average yield of 4.73 tons/ha.

Currently, domestic farmers have collected:

• corn – 10.359 million tons from 1.684 million hectares or 40% of the area with a yield of 6.15 tons/hectare (last year 18.3 million tons from 76% of the area with a yield of 6.1 tons/hectare),
• buckwheat – 82.5 thousand tons from 59.6 thousand hectares or 86% of the area with a yield of 1.38 tons/hectare (126.9 thousand tons; 98%; 1.45 tons/hectare),
• millet – 61.5 thousand tons from 36.4 thousand hectares or 68% of the area with a yield of 1.69 tons/hectare (160.2 thousand tons; 93%; 1.87 tons/hectare),
• sunflower – 8.372 million tons from 4.44 million hectares or 85% of the area with a yield of 1.88 tons/hectare (9.6 million tons; 94%; 2.09 tons/hectare),
• soybeans – 3.938 million tons from 1.69 million hectares or 78% of the area with a yield of 2.34 tons/hectare (5.7 million tons; 95%; 2.28 tons/hectare).

In addition, as of October 30, 6.794 million tons of sugar beets were harvested from 130 thousand hectares or 66% of the planned area with an average yield of 52.27 tons/hectare (9.5 million tons; 76%; 48.6 tons/hectare).

According to the State Customs Service of Ukraine, in October Ukraine exported 2.489 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, which is 48% lower than the pace of October 2024, and in total in the 2024/25 MY, exports of these crops amounted to 9.168 million tons, which is 54% less than in the same period last season (14.14 million tons).

By crop, the following were exported in the current season:

• wheat – 6.185 million tons, of which in October – 1.448 million tons (7.68 million tons and 1.58 million tons),
• barley – 1.089 million tons, of which in October - 216 thousand tons (1.69 million tons and 368 thousand tons),
• rye – 0.2 thousand tons (0),
• corn – 1.722 million tons, of which in October - 807 thousand tons (4.49 million tons and 1.73 million tons).

Total exports of Ukrainian flour since the beginning of the season as of October 31 amounted to 21.3 thousand tons (in October - 6.1 thousand tons), in particular wheat - 20.6 thousand tons (5.9 thousand tons).
