As of October 3, 58% of sunflower crops have been threshed in Ukraine

According to the Ministry of Economy, as of October 3, 65% of crops have already been threshed in Ukraine, from which 31.5 million tons of grain have been harvested, including:

  • wheat — 22.5 million tons (100% of the area) with a yield of 4.5 tons/hectare,
  • barley — 5.3 million tons (100% of the area) with a yield of 3.96 tons/ha,
  • peas — 626.6 thousand tons (100% of the area) with a yield of 2.36 tons/hectare,
  • corn — 2 million tons (10% of the area) with a yield of 5.08 tons/hectare.
  •

According to ASAP Agri, the accumulated volumes of corn are currently comparable to the corn exports from Ukraine in October last year (1.9 million tons) and significantly exceed the October shipments of 2023 (1.1 million tons), which indicates the absence of a real grain deficit on the domestic market. Last year, the peak export period fell on November-January.

Also, on the specified date, the following amount of oilseeds was harvested:

  • rapeseed — 3.3 million tons (101% of the area) with a yield of 2.6 tons/hectare,
  • soybeans — 2.2 million tons (46% of the area) with a yield of 2.22 tons/hectare,
  • sunflower — 5.5 million tons (58.7% of the area) with a yield of 1.83 tons/hectare.

2.4 million tons of sugar beets were dug from 25% of the area with a yield of 48.5 tons/hectare.

Heavy rains that continued in Ukraine last week and this week will further delay the harvest and may lead to loss of quality and yield.
