In Ukraine winter crops planted 94% of the planned areas

According to the Ministry of agrarian policy, as of 18.11.16 in Ukraine winter grains sown 6,936 million hectares or 94% of the planned areas, which is 326 thousand hectares over the same period last year.

• Winter wheat and triticale planted 5.9 million hectares or 95% of the plan.

• Barley 877 hectares, or 85%.

• Winter rape 844 hectares, or 117%.

• Rye – 158 thousand ha, or 107%.

Preparation of soil for sowing of winter crops is made on 100% of the planned areas.

Farmers continue to harvest. Now 13,368 million ha (93% of plan) collected 59,963 million tons of grain and legumes with an average yield of 44.9 kg/ha. Gross harvest is inferior to last year's figure on the same date at 1,267 million.

• From the area of 5,839 million hectares (99% of plan) produced 13,279 million tons of sunflower with a yield of 22.7 centners per hectare.

• Soybean collected from 1,749 million hectares (95%) of 4 million tons with a yield of 22.9 centners per hectare.

• With an area of 251 thousand hectares (86%) dug 11,982 million tons of sugar beet with a yield of 478 kg/ha.
