In Ukraine, more than 62% of soybean and sunflower areas and 23% of corn have been threshed

Thanks to the dry weather in Ukraine, harvesting of late crops is actively underway, and export rates are 20% higher than last year against the background of high export demand.

 

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 26, 34.288 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were harvested from 7.95 million hectares or 72% of the planned area (11.116 million hectares) with an average yield of 4.31 tons/ha, while last year on September 28 from 30.47 million tons of grain were threshed on 6.972 million hectares or 64% of the area with a yield of 4.36 tons/ha.

 

So far, domestic farmers have collected:

  • wheat - 22.327 million tons from 100% of the area,
  • barley - 5.536 million tons from 100% of the area,
  • corn - 4.72 million tons from 920.7 thousand ha or 23% of the area with a yield of 5.13 tons/ha,
  • buckwheat - 115.5 thousand tons from 78.3 thousand hectares or 88% of the area with a yield of 1.47 tons/ha,
  • millet - 147.75 thousand tons from 77.7 thousand hectares or 84% of the area with a yield of 1.9 tons/ha,
  • sunflower – 6.659 million tons from 3.268 million ha or 66% of the area with a yield of 2.04 t/ha,
  • rapeseed - 3.457 million tons from 1.266 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.73 tons/ha,
  • soybeans - 3.504 million tons from 1.646 million hectares or 62% of the area with a yield of 2.13 tons/ha,
  • sugar beet – 2.459 million tons from 51.8 thousand ha or 20% of the area with a yield of 47.51 t/ha.

 

According to the State Customs Service, in 2024/25 MR (as of September 27), Ukraine exported 10.053 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, of which 2.857 million tons - in September. Last year, during this period, 6.339 million tons of grain were shipped, in particular, in September - 1.752 million tons.

 

In comparison with the corresponding period of the previous season, exports increased in 2024/25 MR:

  • wheat - from 3.115 to 5.802 million tons,
  • barley - from 603 thousand tons to 1.253 million tons,
  • rye - from 0.7 to 7.5 thousand tons,
  • corn - from 2.599 to 2.734 million tons.

 

In addition, on the specified date, Ukraine exported 18.3 thousand tons of flour (35.1 thousand tons for the same period in 2023/24 MR), of which wheat - 16.5 (34.1) thousand tons.
