In Ukraine, 91% of sunflower, 95% of soybean and 62% of corn areas have been threshed

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as of November 13, 47.937 million tons of grain and legume crops were harvested from 9.826 million hectares or 84% of the planned areas in Ukraine, with an average yield of 4.88 tons/ha, while last year, on this date, 52.083 million tons of grain and legume crops were harvested from 10.643 million hectares or 90% of the planned areas, with an average yield of 4.89 tons/ha.

In addition, the following number of late crops were harvested on the specified date:

• corn – 17.913 million tons from 2.72 million hectares or 62% of the area with a yield of 6.59 tons/hectare (last year, 22.348 million tons were harvested from 3.56 million hectares or 88% of the area with a yield of 6.27 tons/hectare),
• buckwheat – 82.3 thousand tons from 59.3 thousand hectares or 97% of the area with a yield of 1.39 tons/hectare (87.8 thousand hectares; 99%; 127.2 thousand tons; 1.45 tons/hectare),
• millet – 62.1 thousand tons from 35.7 thousand hectares or 88% of the area with a yield of 1.74 tons/hectare (88.1 thousand hectares; 93%; 161 thousand tons; 1.83 tons/hectare).

Also, on November 13, the following amount of oilseeds was harvested:

• sunflower – 8.918 million tons from 4.74 million hectares or 91% of the area with a yield of 1.88 tons/hectare (4.78 million hectares; 97%; 9.96 million tons; 2.09 tons/hectare),
• soybeans – 4.654 million tons from 1.96 million hectares or 95% of the area with a yield of 2.38 tons/hectare (2.56 million hectares; 98%; 5.89 million tons; 2.27 tons/hectare).

In addition, on the specified date, 9.289 million tons of sugar beets were harvested from 174.7 thousand hectares or 88% of the planned area, with an average yield of 53.17 tons/ha (last year, 11.43 million tons were harvested from 238.1 thousand hectares or 92% of the area, with a yield of 48.02 tons/ha).

Last week, farmers completed harvesting soybeans and sunflowers, but sub-zero temperatures and snow are forecast in Ukraine in the coming days, which will continue to delay the corn harvest.
