In the main exporting countries, the weather favors the development of the crop

Cold and rainy weather delays the planting of spring crops, but improves the condition of winter crops in the main grain exporting countries of the Northern Hemisphere, while in Brazil and Argentina the intensity of precipitation decreases, which will allow the harvesting of soybeans and corn to be completed and the planting of winter wheat to begin.

In the US Midwest, frosts can damage wheat, soybeans and corn crops. During the weekend, there will be heavy downpours in the region. Low temperatures will prevail until May, especially in the eastern regions, which will delay sowing.

In the arid regions of the Central and Southern Plains, heavy rains took place, which partially reduced the impact of the drought on crops. Additional soil moisture will facilitate the sowing of soybeans and corn, and the production of seedlings. In the Northern Plains, scattered rains will pass in the next few days, which will not increase the pressure on the flood across the Red River. Low temperatures will delay soil drying and sowing. Over the weekend, the temperature will rise slightly in the west, and next week it will approach the norm in the east of the region as well.

In the Canadian prairies, cold temperatures are slowing down snowmelt, delaying field work. The next few days there will be rain and snow, but from next week the temperature will rise, which will allow intensive sowing of spring crops to begin.

Rains are still falling in some places in Brazil, especially in the south of the main second-crop corn growing areas. The weather favors the cultivation of corn and replenishes moisture reserves before planting winter wheat. The rains will continue for several more weeks, and frosts are already possible in June.

In most agricultural regions of Argentina, the rains have ended, which creates conditions for harvesting heat-damaged crops. The amount of moisture is insufficient for sowing winter wheat, which should be started in 1-2 weeks. The weekend will see some rains, but they will not be enough to replenish moisture reserves.

In most of Europe, heavy rains will pass during the week, only in Spain there is a deficit of precipitation. Crop conditions are good in almost all regions, only Spanish winter and spring crops suffer from drought.

Rains continue in the Black Sea region, the intensity of which will decrease next week. In Ukraine, frosts are possible on weekends, but in general, the weather conditions are favorable for the development of winter wheat crops and corn.
