The Government of Ukraine has added the possibility of lending UAH 80 billion to the "5-7-9%" program to support farmers amid the suspension of exports

Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretsky said that the government has adopted an emergency package of measures to support Ukrainian farmers against the backdrop of Russian terror in the Black Sea and the blocking of export routes, the Government Portal reports.

Changes are being made to the "5-7-9%" program that will allow farmers to receive preferential loans to replenish working capital, under which the difference in interest rates will be compensated by the state. In total, up to UAH 80 billion in loans will be available under this program, the Prime Minister noted.

Such a step will help farmers purchase everything they need for field work, maintain production, and ensure stable exports of Ukrainian products.

At the same time, the government is working with the European Commission on additional support that will allow for an increase in preferential lending programs, the Prime Minister said.

In the near future, the government will introduce additional practical measures to support farmers.
