Hurricanes in the US and lack of rainfall in eastern Ukraine and Brazil will affect grain markets in the near future

Just two weeks after Hurricane Helena hit the southeastern states of the United States , including Florida, killing more than 200 people, meteorologists warned of the approach of a powerful hurricane Milton to Florida, which could cause destruction and catastrophic consequences
The Midwest and Central and Southern Plains will experience dry and warm weather this week, which will accelerate soybean and corn harvest and reduce crop losses. Over the weekend, the hurricane will bring showers and cold air to the Great Lakes region, which will linger there for several days, especially in the east of the country.
In the main winter wheat growing regions, the heat and lack of precipitation will negatively affect the development of crops, especially in areas where there was no rain last week.
Southern Brazil has had good rains for several weeks, which has allowed soybean and corn planting to accelerate, but heat and drought persist in the central states, preventing farmers from planting soybeans. The heavy rain season is expected to start two weeks later, which could delay the planting of second-crop maize.
Argentina , especially in the south, continues to be deficient in precipitation, but there are scattered rains every week that support winter wheat crops and help soybeans and corn. If the rains do not increase in intensity over the next few weeks, drought will be a problem for growers in much of the country.
The front from Europe brought good rains to the western and central regions of Ukraine , but the precipitation did not reach the eastern regions, as well as the southwestern part of the Russian Federation. This week, in the east of Ukraine, which has been suffering from a drought for several months, there may be light rains, which will facilitate the sowing of winter wheat. Optimum times for sowing wheat are coming to an end, but farmers continue sowing, hoping for a mild winter.
In the southwest of the Russian Federation, slight precipitation will occur over the weekend and next week, which will improve the conditions for the development of winter wheat crops.
Eastern Australia saw isolated showers over the weekend, but other regions saw little or no rainfall. According to forecasts, additional rains may fall in the country this week and next.
