In September, Ukrzaliznytsia almost tripled grain export shipments

According to operational data of Ukrzaliznytsia, in September, cargo transportation in all directions of connections increased by 3% compared to September 2022 to 12.035 million tons, the company's press service reported.

The company notes that the increase in total transportation was due to an increase in the volume of transportation on domestic routes by 35.5% to 7.896 million tons, while the volume of export transportation in September decreased by 31.2% to 3.578 million tons, in particular, export transportation of grain cargo - almost tripled to 1.072 million tons.

"The overall volume of cargo transportation in September showed a slight increase, however, the indicators of export transportation, in particular strategically important grain cargoes, were negative for objective reasons. Ukrzaliznytsia once again declares its readiness to transport all necessary volumes of cargo and calls on partners from neighboring countries to work together on the development of railway connections between the countries and strengthening of business relations", stressed the member of the board of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" Vyacheslav Yeromin.

At the same time, import transportation of UZ cargoes in September decreased by 18% compared to September 2022 to 518.5 thousand tons, while transit ones increased by 2.3 times to 43.2 thousand tons.
