"Ukrzaliznytsia" plans to change the conditions for repositioning wagons on the European track

Joint-stock company "Ukrzaliznytsia" plans to change the conditions for moving wagons from the 1520 mm track to the 1435 mm track. This was discussed during a meeting of company representatives with carriers from Romania and Moldova, reports Rail.insider.

According to Valery Tkachov, deputy director of the commercial work department of JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia", 1520 mm gauge wagons belonging to the "Transport Logistics Center" (TTL) branch are rarely used, as there is a surplus of rolling stock on the market. Therefore, UZ plans to more actively use CTL wagons for export transportation through border crossings with transfer to carts of 1435 mm gauge.

"In the near future, we will start producing switching trolleys and use the existing trolleys only for moving CTL wagons. At the same time, owners of private wagons will be able to manufacture trolleys of 1435 mm gauge for their own needs (UZ has a corresponding technical solution at several wagon repair plants). Businesses can install their trolleys under their wagons," V. Tkachev clarified.

So, in the plans of "Ukrzaliznytsia" - to make maximum use of the available trolleys, the number of which is more than 3,000, for moving and using the wagons of the CTL fleet.
