Ukrzaliznytsia will increase the empty mileage coefficient for grain trucks
JSC Ukrzaliznytsia will increase the empty mileage coefficient for grain wagons from the current figure of 1.06 to 1.11 in 2026, the company's website reports.
The specified coefficient for tank cars transporting food products will increase from 1.03 to 1.44, and for gondola cars - from 0.85 to 0.89, while for cars for transporting flour from next year the coefficient will decrease from 1.01 to 0.92, and for mineral cars - from 1.28 to 0.79.
This increase will further increase rail freight rates for grain and oil, which will be particularly sensitive given the sharp increase in freight rates over the past month.
It should be noted that Ukrzaliznytsia increases the empty mileage coefficient for grain wagons, but reduces it for mineral wagons.
