Ukrzaliznytsia will reduce plans for transporting agricultural products to the western borders if large queues form there
In November, Ukrzaliznytsia will change the procedure for approving plans for transporting agricultural products to western border crossings, and will reduce transportation volumes in directions where large queues of wagons have formed.
The company will take into account the number of wagons actually accepted by foreign carriers over the last 1-2 months and the length of waiting in line. If the waiting time exceeds 15 days, transportation plans in this direction will be reduced.
For example, if a foreign carrier previously accepted 50 wagons per day, this figure will be taken for further calculations, even if the carrier announces its readiness to increase the acceptance of wagons.
In addition, when approving the plans, UZ will take into account the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on the priority of transportation of vegetable oil and fuel.
As reported by the Deputy Director of the Commercial Department of UZ Tkachev, in order to reduce the queue to at least 10-12 thousand wagons, UZ may temporarily limit the dispatch of wagons in certain directions, returning to the approach used during 2022-2023, when the queues of wagons were reduced from 42 to 12 thousand. At the same time, the agreed volumes are planned to be reviewed every 10 days, for which an information panel will be created with the specified applications and actual volumes of transportation for each border crossing and foreign carrier.
