The Ukrainian hydrometeorological forecasts the harvest of winter crops at the level of 26.5 million tons

According to the previous forecast of the Ukrainian hydrometeorological, which was promulgated on 27 may, this year, domestic farmers will be able to collect about 26.5 million tons of winter grain crops. For comparison, last year the figure was 29.6 million.

Agrometeorological calculations carried out on the basis of data on the existing condition of the plants available in the soil moisture reserves and taking into account the nearest predictions about the weather conditions, show that the expected winter wheat yield will be approximately 39.6 C/ha, rye – 24.8 C/ha, barley – 32.5 C/ha.

Also agrometeorology reported that according to their preliminary estimates, in 2016 the aging of winter grain crops will take place in one to two weeks earlier than it usually occurs, early spring vegetation process.
