More products were exported through the Ukrainian sea corridor in 7 months than in a year of the "grain initiative"

In 7 months, 33.8 million tons of goods were exported through the Ukrainian Sea Corridor, which is much more than during the year of the "grain initiative", - said the Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure of Ukraine O. Kubrakov.

The corridor was opened in August 2023, and within the first month, single ships passed through it, mostly those that remained blocked in Ukrainian ports since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation.

To date, 1,140 ships have passed through the Ukrainian corridor, exporting 33.8 million tons of cargo to 40 countries, including 23.1 million tons of agricultural products. Currently, 150 ships are waiting in line to enter the ports of Odesa, Chornomorsk and Pivdenny, which will export another 5 million tons of cargo.

"We can say that we practically reached the pre-war volume of cargo exports from the ports of Great Odesa and ensured an effective logistics route without the participation of the aggressor state," concluded O. Kubrakov.

According to the State Customs Service, in 2023/24 FY (as of March 29), Ukraine exported 34.593 million tons of grain and leguminous crops, in particular in March - 4.923 million tons, while last year on this date 37.382 million tons of grain were exported, of which in March – 5.085 million tons.

The following crops were exported:

  • wheat - 13.717 million tons (12.761 million tons last year), of which in March - 1.945 million tons,

  • rye – 1 (17.4) thousand tons, in March it was not exported,
  • of corn – 18.622 (22) million tons, in March – 2.627 million tons.
