Ukrainian farmers need time to transition to the European Green Course, - believes acting Minister of Agricultural Policy T. Vysotskyi

At the online discussion "Ukrainian Agriculture and the European Green Course" Acting Minister of Agrarian Policy of Ukraine T. Vysotskyi said that "Ukrainian farmers need some time to implement all the requirements of the European Green Course, even though they are currently implementing environmental protection measures," the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.

"Today, domestic manufacturers face problems caused by climate change and the need to protect the environment. However, they are well acquainted with the methods of ecologically clean farming. Thus, the Fund for Partial Guarantee of Credits in Agriculture, which provides guarantees to small farmers, has clear requirements for the environmental norms of the activities of such farms," said T. Vysotskyi.

He also said that as a result of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, a large part of Ukraine's agricultural land is polluted, but farmers are already preparing to grow crops that absorb not only important metals, but also greenhouse gases, as this will be an additional contribution to achieving the global goals of the European Green Course.
