Ukrainian farmers complete rapeseed harvest, having already threshed 3 million tons, which strengthens export demand

According to the Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, as of August 14, 24.81 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed in Ukraine from 6.186 million hectares or 55% of the planned area with an average yield of 4.01 tons/hectare.
On the specified date, collected:
- wheat – 18.986 million tons from an area of 4.396 million hectares (88%) with a yield of 4.32 tons/hectare,
- barley – 4.732 million tons from an area of 1.247 million hectares (90%) with a yield of 3.79 tons/hectare,
- peas – 573.5 thousand tons from an area of 230.3 thousand hectares (94%) with a yield of 2.49 tons/hectare
- millet – 1.52 thousand tons from an area of 2.1 thousand hectares (3%) with a yield of 0.73 tons/hectare.
In addition, as of August 14, 2025, 3.015 million tons of rapeseed were harvested in Ukraine from 1.185 million hectares (93% of the planned area) with a yield of 2.54 tons/hectare (2.72 tons/hectare last year).
The lower-than-expected rapeseed harvest is increasing demand from exporters, so prices at ports yesterday increased by another 300-500 UAH/t to 23,700-24,500 UAH/t for express deliveries to Black Sea ports, and export prices under foreign exchange contracts - to $530-543/t.
Processors are still cautiously buying rapeseed at a price of 22,600-23,500 UAH/t with delivery to the factory, and for oil content above 47-48% they offer a premium of 300 UAH/t.
It is worth noting that processors have started buying new crop sunflower at a price of UAH 24,500-26,500/t (for an oil content of 46%) with delivery to the factory, which will encourage producers to sell sunflower, not rapeseed.
