Ukraine increases the negative balance of foreign trade

Negative balance of foreign trade in 9 months of current year has increased in comparison with the same period in 2018 amounted 549.9 million $ 7.1 billion $. However, due to significant external borrowing and the surplus on services in the amount of 4.2 bn $ balance of payments remains positive, which contributes to the strengthening of the hryvnia. Due to excess of supply of foreign currency on demand at the interbank market the dollar at the end of the week fell to 24,135/24,165 UAH/$.

According to Gostamsluzhby for 9 months of current year exports of goods increased compared to the same period last year by 7.4% to 37,093 billion $, import - by 7.5% to 44.19 billion $, while the negative balance increased from 6,549 to 7.1 billion $.

the Main buyer of domestic products was China, which during this period increased their exports by 79.2 per cent to 2.59 billion $. Second place goes to Poland, which increased exports by 4,4% 2,53 billion $, the third - Russia, that reduced the purchase 9,7% 2,45 billion $.

Export of major commodity positions compared 2018, the year has changed as follows:

grains grew by 42.5% to 6.8 billion $,

fats and oils increased by 3.9% to 3.3 billion $.

• ferrous metals has decreased by 10.3% to 6.9 billion $,

during a specified period most of the goods Ukraine imported from China, increasing in comparison with last year the purchase of 26.1% to 6.6 billion $, while imports from Russia decreased by 6.9% to 5.4 billion $ and Germany - 0.9 percent to 4.5 billion $.

Imports major commodity positions compared 2018, the year has changed as follows:

oil and mineral fuels decreased by 7% to 8.9 billion $,

products of the chemical and adjacent industries increased by 8.8% to 5.7 billion $.

• machinery, equipment and mechanisms grew by 12.7% to 9.47 billion $,

in General, during January-September 2019 Ukraine conducted trade operations with partners from 221 countries of the world.

Exports of services during the first 9 months of the current year increased in comparison with the similar period of 2018 4.8%, or 410 million $ to 8,9517 billion $ that 4,227 $ billion exceed imports of services also increased by 3% or 137.6 million $ to 4,7241 billion $.
