From January 15, Ukraine will switch to the European food certification system for export

From January 15, 2023, the use of the European Commission's online platform for certification and support of export / import / transit of animals, products of plant and animal origin, food products, feed (TRACES NT) for cargo certification will be introduced in Ukraine, - reports the press service of the State Consumer Service of Ukraine.

The transition to the new system will significantly simplify the formal procedures for the export and transit of food products from Ukraine through the territory of the European Union.

The list of food products, the certification of which will be carried out using TRACES NT, is determined by adapted and integrated into the system certificate forms, in particular:

  • an official certificate for importing eggs and egg products intended for human consumption into the EU;
  • an official certificate for the import into the EU of dairy products intended for human consumption, which are subject to specific processing to reduce risks other than pasteurization (MODEL DAIRY-PRODUCTS-ST);
  • an official certificate for the import into the EU of meat semi-finished products intended for human consumption (MODEL MP-PREP);
  • an official certificate for importing into the EU fresh meat intended for human consumption (MODEL POU) and others.

The agency notes that as new forms of certificates are adapted and implemented in the TRACES NT system, this list will be updated. In addition, in order to avoid unreasonable delays during cargo certification, a number of preparatory measures are proposed.
