At the same time, the share of supplies from EU countries grew by 9% from $3.376 billion to $3.68 billion and accounted for 51.6% of domestic imports, exceeding half of it for the fifth year in a row. Deliveries from Asian countries reached $1.365 billion (19.1%), Latin America — $511 million (7.2%), Africa — $326 million (4.6%).

 

The volumes of import of agricultural products from Poland increased compared to 2022 from $881 to $950 million.

 

Also, the TOP-10 largest suppliers of agricultural products included:

  • Turkey ($627 million);
  • Germany ($534 million);
  • Italy ($337 million);
  • Norway ($304 million);
  • France ($282 million);
  • The Netherlands ($278 million);
  • United States of America ($252 million);
  • Spain ($233 million);
  • China ($216 million).

In general, these countries provided 56% of Ukrainian imports of agricultural products in 2023.

 

The structure of agricultural products imported to Ukraine is dominated by the following groups of goods:

  • fruits, berries and nuts ($812 million);
  • fish and seafood ($804 million);
  • alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages ($719 million);
  • tobacco products ($494 million);
  • various food products ($473 million);
  • seeds and fruits of oil crops ($411 million).

  • vegetables ($373 million).

In general, these goods accounted for 63% of the value of domestic imports of agricultural products.

 

In 2023, the volume of imports of agricultural products became the fourth most valuable indicator for the entire period of independence of Ukraine, which testifies to the ability of business and consumers to adapt to functioning in the conditions of full-scale Russian aggression.

 

We will remind that in 2023 Ukraine took the third place among importers of fruits and vegetables from Turkey.
