In 2022/23, Ukraine increased the production and export of sunflower oil

According to the Ukroliyaprom association, in 2022/23, compared to the previous season, Ukraine increased its sunflower oil export by 25.4% to 5.6 million tons.

After neighboring EU countries banned the import of Ukrainian sunflower, its processing in Ukraine intensified, as a result of which the export of sunflower oil increased by 25.4%, and sunflower meal - by 27.3%.

The export of sunflower seeds for 8 months of 2023 decreased by 58% compared to the same period of 2022.

At the same time, the export of soybean oil in the 2022/23 financial year increased by 18% compared to the previous season, and of soybean meal by 19.4%. These indicators could be higher in the case of an increase in soybean processing within the country, - believe in Ukroliyaprom.

Also, in 2023, Ukraine increased rapeseed processing, as a result of which, in July-August, the export of rapeseed oil increased by more than 20 times compared to the same period in 2022.

Experts of the association predict that in 2023/24 the production of all types of oil crops in Ukraine will increase by 18.8% due to the expansion of the sowing area by 12.1% and an increase in productivity by an average of 5.7% due to favorable weather, with the most ( by 15%) sunflower production will increase.

According to Ukroliyaprom's forecast, the production of sunflower oil in Ukraine in 2023/24 MR will reach 5 million tons, and its export will reach 4.7 million tons.
