Ukraine and Russia have already harvested a third of the sunflower crop

Dry weather, which has finally been established in Ukraine and Russia for 2-3 weeks, will speed up the harvesting of late crops, which will increase the volume of their offers on the market, especially sunflower, which is already threshed by 30% of the area and yield indicators are within forecasts.

In Ukraine, as of September 23, 46.4 million tons of grain and leguminous crops with an average yield of 4.38 t/ha were threshed from 10.6 million hectares or 66% of the area.

Collected as of the specified date:

• wheat – 33 million tons from 7.08 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4.65 t / ha,
• barley – 10.19 million tons from 2.47 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4.12 t / ha,
• peas – 583.37 thousand tons from 242.7 thousand hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.4 t / ha,
• corn – 1.1 million tons from 226.82 thousand hectares or 4% of the area with a yield of 4.86 t / ha,
• buckwheat – 75.04 thousand tons from 55 thousand hectares or 66% of the area with a yield of 1.35 t / ha,
• millet – 134.04 thousand tons from 56.89 thousand hectares or 73% of the area with a yield of 2.36 t / ha,
• sunflower-4.27 million tons from 2 million hectares or 31% of the area with a yield of 2.13 t / ha,
• soybeans – 519.96 thousand tons from 262.8 thousand hectares or 21% of the area with a yield of 2.36 t / ha,
• rapeseed-2.91 million tons from 1.02 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.85 t / ha,
• sugar beet – 1.25 million tons from an area of 25.82 thousand hectares with a yield of 48.53 t/ha.

The leader of harvesting remains the Odessa region, where 4.359 million tons of grain have already been threshed, but the best yield at the level of 6.03 t/ha is demonstrated by the Khmelnitsky region.

In Russia, as of September 24, 103.8 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from 39.5 million hectares.

In total, as of the specified date, collected:

• wheat-73.2 million tons from 25.8 million hectares or 90% of the area with a yield of 2.84 t / ha,
• barley – 18 million tons from 7.5 million hectares or 94% of the area with a yield of 2.4 t / ha,
• corn – 2.2 million tons from 483.8 thousand hectares with a yield of 4.54 t / ha,
• sunflower-4.3 million tons from 2.7 million hectares or 29% of the area with a yield of 1.59 t / ha,
• rapeseed-2.1 million tons from 1.1 million hectares with a yield of 1.9 t / ha,
• soybeans – 1.3 million tons from 786.9 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.65 t / ha,
• sugar beet – 9.7 million tons from an area of 262.8 thousand hectares with a yield of 36.9 t/ha.

A sharp acceleration in harvesting in the near future will increase pressure on sunflower and corn prices, especially given the containment of sales by producers.
