Ukraine and Russia accelerate harvesting of late crops, but sunflower yields are lower than expected

As of September 16, 45.7 million tons of grain and leguminous crops with an average yield of 4.39 t/ha were harvested in Ukraine from 10.4 million hectares or 65% of the area.

In particular on the specified date collected:

• wheat – 33 million tons from 7.08 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4.65 t / ha,
• barley – 10.19 million tons from 2.47 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 4.12 t / ha,
• peas – 581.77 thousand tons from 242.6 thousand hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.4 t / ha,
• corn – 406.97 thousand tons from 84.8 thousand hectares or 2% of the area with a yield of 4.9 t / ha,
• buckwheat – 62.57 thousand tons from 46.69 thousand hectares or 56% of the area with a yield of 1.34 t / ha,
• millet – 119.83 thousand tons from 50.91 thousand hectares or 65% of the area with a yield of 2.35 t / ha,
• sunflower-2.38 million tons from 1.12 million hectares or 17% of the area with a yield of 2.12 t / ha,
• soybeans – 348.55 thousand tons from 151.98 thousand hectares or 12% of the area with a yield of 2.29 t / ha,
• rapeseed – 2.9 million tons from 1.01 million hectares or 100% of the area with a yield of 2.86 t/ha.

Sugar beet harvesting has begun, of which 506.28 thousand tons have already been harvested from an area of 10.61 thousand hectares with a yield of 47.74 t/ha.

In Russia, as of September 17, 100.7 million tons of grain and leguminous crops were threshed from an area of 38.1 million hectares, in particular:

• wheat-71.4 million tons from 24.9 million hectares or 87% of the area with a yield of 2.86 t / ha,
• barley – 17.7 million tons from 7.4 million hectares or 93% of the area with a yield of 2.39 t / ha,
• corn for grain – 1.6 million tons from an area of 348.2 thousand hectares with a yield of 4.59 t/ha,
• sunflower-2.9 million tons from 1.7 million hectares or 18% of the area with a yield of 1.7 t / ha,
• rapeseed-1.8 million tons from 978.7 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.84 t / ha,
• soybeans – 1 million tons from an area of 598.8 thousand hectares with a yield of 1.67 t/ha,
• sugar beet – 7.1 million tons from an area of 189.9 thousand hectares.
